C5 - Stream DLNA Cast Player App Reviews

Excellent, best DLNA/UPnP player Ive found

Ive downloaded close to 10-15 apps to stream at least music through UPnP and this one was the best free app Ive found. The YouTube function was all I need and this performed quite excellent compared to other apps that stream YouTube. The only thing is that Im not a big fan of the whole wheel design and if this app was redesigned to be very simple but functional that would be the cherry on top.

Fonctionnement très moyen

Nixe but Mann bugs

Lets start with the good things: if you invest round about 8 bugs, you will get a player that can play A/V content as well as radio to a dlna renderer of your choice . A unique feature is, that you even can stream from a dlna server to an appleTV. But - here are the drawbacks: - the UI isnt that responsive , so that it takes often more klicks on the screen to get a feature working. - no continuous play of iTunes play lists - no chapter skip in videos - to small navigation bar that makes it impossible to navigate in content - no language selection in videos - start stop for music playback doesnt work for many renderers - unlogic UI: "room selection" does not work with the upper wheel in stead you have to turn the phone - no iPad mode, works only in high format with reduced resolution I hope, the developers will spend a bit more time on testing and UI improvement, because from a feature point of view this app have the potential to became a killer app.

Creation 5

easy & reliable

NOTE this is a music-centric app

I was excited by the sight of a new, nice-looking app that did DLNA and AirPlay, but sadly, it doesnt work with video (yet?) but does stream music around. Hope it matures in this respect. Also, the main interface isnt the cleanest (you have to tap Video twice for some reason)

What happened?

The new interface is not intuitive. Other devices cannot be found on the same network. Cannot even find music on the iPhone. I am unloading it. How do I rate 0 stars?

Works well, some minor bugs

the app is good. I can use my iPhone or iPad to stream videos from my serviio DLNA media to my chromecast and my samsung tv. But i found a minor bug. There is no audio on .mkv files when playing on chromecast, from my dlna server. But its ok with my TV. Its the same issue with iphone or ipad. But everything is fine with mp4 file, on chromecast and my Tv.

Great Apps

I love the features but lacking option to play the music in a folder.

Moving, not improving

Feature bloat has causes the interface to get clunkier over time. Core music playback features are spotty -- crashes when accessing my (1 terabyte) upnp server, cant push ALAC tracks to Chromecast ... Gets two stars at least as it is among the better apps around for passing locally stored mp3s to a renderer or streamer.

Bad UI

Very complex and cant understand how to use

Ok as a local DLNA player but no chromecast

As a local player it seems ok, very fast to browse through thousands of pictures and music files but connected to my Google Chromecast it simply fails to perform any action. It hangs all the time and does not display anything. Uninstalled straight away
